5 things you could do this year in your role to save Mother Earth

1. SAY NO TO PLASTIC OR PAPER BAGS.
One way to start is to follow the government's initiative by using reusable bags when we go out to shop. Some of you might wonder where will you get the plastic bags to line your garbage bin then. Well, the idea here is to reduce the number of plastic bags that clog our river. Some people might think that the solution is to change from plastic to paper but the ugly truth is, paper bags causes as much harm to Mother Nature as plastic bags.

2. E-BILLING
Another way to go green is to switch your monthly bills to e-billing. Even if you print the bills out, it reduces the carbon footprint and paper usage. Another advantages to e-billing is that we can practically pay our bills anywhere as long as we able to access the internet and make full use of our e-banking accounts.

3. COLLECT RAIN WATER
For those of us who still want to find ways to save as much water as we possibly can, on top of the suggestions given above, try collecting rain water to water your plants or clean your yard with. An ordinary pail will do the trick but you might want to consider a barrel if you want to collect as much rain water as you can.

4. WALK
Instead of driving to the sundry shop a few blocks away, try walking instead. Walking is  a mild foam of exercise that does not cause major impact on your knees nor your heart.

5. CARPOOL
Instead of driving to work everyday, consider taking public transport. If your work place is not accessible by public transport, you might want to consider car pooling. Taking the public transport reduces the amount of exhaust emitted as well as decreases traffic jam. Carpooling also enables you to save money on petrol and maintenance as well.

Ensure that you use the equipment correctly and select the appropriate weights. Seek proper advice from trainers if you doing it for the first time.

2. Alternate your jogging sessions with cross training exercises like yoga. The pounding and muscle tightening of running will be balanced out by the loosening and restoring techniques of yoga.

3. Jog on a proper running track or choose softer surfaces such as grassy areas and dirt paths. Regular side walk and roads have greater shock impact to the knees and other body areas. Avoid rocky or uneven surfaces as these pose the risk of twisted ankles.

4. Invest in a pair of proper running shoes to ensure a comfortable run and help prevent injuries. Things to note are the shape and arch of your foot. It should be 1/2 to a full size bigger than your regular shoe size because your feet will swell when you run.

Earth Hour 60 2012

Earth Hour 60 was celebrated in all Asia nations yesterday (31/3/2012) from 8 p.m. until 9 p.m. (Malaysian Hour). This event is being celebrated once a year for an hour. It is a way to cultivate awareness in all individuals about global warming prevention. Earth Hour 60 was tremendously celebrated in famous spots of Asia countries such as KLCC, Penang Bridge and New Delhi main road.
But the importance of this event is not understood by most people. To present a clear picture of this: Electricity was on in all the shops, Tesco and thousands of houses within the area of Taman Desa and Old Klang Road, yesterday. It is very obvious that none of these people do care about our environment, thus, they all neglected the Earth Hour 60 event. No one is personally ready to contribute at least an hour per year for the good of our environment. If this behavior is going to persist, then what would happen to the world in future? The areas mentioned above represent many other locations throughout the world.
